SCP-1027

Item #: SCP-1027, suggested revisions

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:

As the object itself is inert, excepting certain (Except during) periods of activation (see Description), the item(SCP-1027) is (to be) placed in Site Storage Room #38-A, with a tracking device attached. (What is containment protocol during the active period?)
As of ██/██/████ one Class D individual is to be stationed as a guard in front of Storage Room #38-A. Research involving the object must be cleared by at least two (2) level 4 personnel, and cannot take place on any Saturday or Sunday. For exploration attempts, see Addendum.

Description: SCP-1027, appears to be, at first glance, aesthetically similar to (appears to be an) animal cracker boxes manufactured by the [REDACTED] cookie company. Chemical tests indicate that the fibers composing the cardboard that make up the structure of the box (consists of) are normal cellulose fibers,albeit with a heavier isotope of oxygen that is normal for cellulose to contain (which contain an atypically high percentage of oxygen isotope 18O) . SCP-1027 is most often inert, and interaction with the object can be safely performed during these conditions.

Recovered from D-54225's headset during exploration attempt 1.

However, on every Friday, beginning on(at) 12:00 A.M. local time(use military time?), (circus music can be heard and) animate (humanoid? indistinct?) shadows appear around the locality in which the item is centered, and circus music can be heard (in the area surrounding the item). The farthest shadow created from this effect was(This area usually has a diameter of around █ meters, but has been known to extend as far as) ██ meters from SCP-1027. Though, at the time of(These effects continue until) 11:00 P.M. on Friday, (when the music ends and )all shadows around SCP-1027 dematerialize and the music mutes. These include(This includes the) shadows of living creatures and inanimate objects that are close to(within range of) SCP-1027('s area of influence).

At exactly 12:00 A.M. on Saturday, all objects and beings whose shadows have been removed by SCP-1027 will disappear, along with the box itself. These objects and beings will not return until midnight on the Monday after the disappearances occurred. (At that time, )Objects and/or beings will rematerialize along with SCP-1027 at the same location(exact position of disappearance). However, there is evidence suggesting that SCP-1027 may be an extradimensional object(,) due to the fact that many things that return with SCP-1027 often have significant changes to their topology and general structure(,) along with the fact that [DATA EXPUNGED] observed.

Only one exploration attempt has been made in order to discern where SCP-1027 transports those under its effect. The result of that exploration attempt is listed in detail in( See Exploration Log 1027-1). As a result of that attempt [DATA EXPUNGED] and now(In consideration of these risks,) one Class D personnel will (be assigned to) guard the entrance to Site Storage Room #38-A, the SCP has been updated to reflect this change. As a precaution, research involving SCP-1027 must have(now requires) the approval of two level 4 personnel before commencing.

Apparently, the location of(Items transported by) SCP-1027's transportation target appears to be a circus(appear in an area strongly resembling a circus). (This area is inhabited by) Various hostile beings with the appearance of "clowns" and other circus members inhabit the area.

There is only one survivor of Exploration Attempt 1, D-54225, who was found with various non-fatal stab and slash wounds across his chest. A post-exploration interview is contained below.(was attempted, but was unfortunately cut short before completion.)

Interview 1027-1

Interviewed: D-54225

Interviewer: Dr. ██████

Foreword: This is a debrief for D-54225 on what events had transpired during the course of Exploration Attempt 1.

<Begin Log, 12:10 A.M.>

Dr. ██████: So what exactly happened during the exploration, what caused you to have those wounds, are there any
hostiles?
(Please explain exactly what happened during the exploration.)

D-54225: (Mumbles softly)

Dr. ██████: Please, speak louder.

D-54225: It was amazing, doc, you should have been there.

Dr. ██████: What do you mean, please explain?

D-54225: At first you know, it was empty, but then the show was started.

Dr. ██████: What show?

D-54225: The circus of course! We were its prime stars! I never knew that [REDACTED] could walk the
tight-rope like that. Of course, he fell half way through his performance. Even that other D-Class guy, he
lifted three cars! Then they toppled over and crushed him, but it was quite a sight!

Dr. ██████: And what role did you perform?

D-54225: I was the clown of course! The audience were rolling in their seats with laughter! And I was
laughing along with them!

Closing Statement: D-54225 began laughing uncontrollably and died shortly thereafter. (Autopsy results revealed the cause of death to be asphyxiation due to a high concentration of Nitrous Oxide in the lungs. [turns out you can't really overdose on nitrous in the traditional sense, usually when it kills someone it's because they get so high they forget they need air in between breaths of nitrous-AB])The cause of
death was a poisonous concentration of Nitrous Oxide in his body.

<End Log, 12:15 A.M. >

Addendum: As of this time, unless a substantiated reason can be given for conducting an exploration attempt, no exploration attempts to the location that SCP-1027 transports object to are to be made.(Considering the results of Exploration Attempt 1, no further exploration attempts are to be made before more information about the object and its target location becomes available.) [You might want to reconsider this, I don't think they'd stop just because some D-class took some scary pictures and died.-AB]
