SCP-XXXX upon discovery |
---|
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures : Subject is to be kept in a 3m x 3m x 3m tank constructed of ballistic glass lined on its inner surface with transparent aluminum. The tank is to be filled to 90% capacity with seawater with a gastight hatch installed above the waterline. The tank itself is to be housed in a 5m x 5m x 5m containment cell with a recessed floor and a gastight entryway. The floor should be constructed of a 5mm x 5mm mesh over a stainless steel structural support lattice, with drains installed below that directly transfer waste to Site ██'s hazardous materials processing facility. The entirety of the interior is to be lined with stainless steel and treated with an acid-resistant coating.
Two out of four guard personnel per shift must wear a shark suit under an acid-resistant Class-A hazmat suit at all times to ensure rapid response to potential breaches and safe handling of SCP-XXXX. A water temperature of 5ºC must be maintained to induce a low metabolic state in the subject. 8 melting deterioration sensors are located in each of the walls and corners of the tank along with a self-backwashing system that automatically removes the trapped contaminants and raises the pH of the water within the containment. Twice per week, SCP-XXXX must be fed one intact central nervous system from an adult pig for sustenance.
Description : SCP-XXXX is a carnivorous aquatic mutation with similar traces of Papio ursinus (Chacma baboon) and Panthera leo (Lion) in its DNA composition. Subject attaches itself to the nerves in the upper torso and neck of living beings with it's teeth, while drooling an acid mucus to melt the skin and bones and make it easier to digest. The bite of SCP-XXXX triggers pain reported to be "excruciating". The damage and the mucus causes neural responses such as alternating between seizures and body paralysis, vomiting, lack of balance, synesthesia, sensations of heat and cold, diarrhea and bleeding from ears and nose. The use of painkillers does not appear to affect the intensity of the pain.
Subject's body cells appear to use cholesterol as primary source of energy, instead of glucose, obtaining from the digestion of high cholesterol animal organs and tissues. SCP-XXXX appears to prefer central nervous systems from mammals with cerebral circumvolutions in the cortex, present in evolved brain-mass species.
The mucus expelled by the subject while feeding causes reduction to the blood pH, showing variable effects according to time of contact. 5 to 10 seconds of contact with the mucus causes acidosis; 2 minutes of contact causes nervous tissues injuries due to myelin sheaths degradation; contact of more than 4 minutes with the mucus causes the skull and meninges to dissolve, facilitating ingestion. SCP-XXXX then expels high cholesterol liquid by its mouth, with the same characteristics of the initial mucus, that appears to originate from the eaten brain and spinal medulla.
Addendum XXXX-1: Test Log
██/██/19██
Test D-XXXX
Head Researcher: Dr. V████
Test Subject: D-XXXX, a male 27 years old caucasian.
Objective: Observe feeding process of SCP-XXXX
Test Log Video Transcription: D-XXXX enters the room and is immediately immobilized by SCP-XXXX via a bite to the trachea. D-XXXX starts to scream and, 5 seconds after, alternate between seizures and paralysis. Neural activity ceases after 2 minutes and death is declared. Dr. V████ steps closer to examine the effects of SCP-XXXX's anticoagulant mucus on the body of D-XXXX. 5 minutes after ingestion of D-XXXX, vital signs of subject appear to cease. One shark suit guard opens the tank's hatch in order to verify SCP's nature. At this moment SCP-XXXX vital signs appear to normalize and it propels itself out of the tank. SCP-XXXX proceeds to expel mucus in the direction of Dr. V████ and his staff. SCP-XXXX start causing damage to the containment cell and immediately propels himself through a gap. Dr. V████ appears to craw to the exit of the cell.
"SCP-XXXX got captured while trying to breach SCP-807 containment. How subject knew SCP-807's existence is unknown. Subject showed to be capable of sapient thoughts and locomotion out of water. The breach causes the destruction of 4 monitoring sensors, the death of █ level 3 and security personnel and injuries to the level 4 researcher in charge. Medical team called in order to help Dr. V████, but the effort of saving his hands is in vain." Author Note: Looking foward approval of use from original writer to mention SCP-807. This part of the Test should be disconsidered if request denied.
