Item #: SCP-XXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Due to its nature, SCP-XXX victims are too widespread to monitor and capture. Therefore, MTF Iota-9 “Destiny’s Husband” and MTF Iota-10 “Fate’s Mother” are only to be on the lookout for subjects displaying signs of following “destinies” ████ through ████, with the intent of securing and containing them until a definitive cure is created. Victims suspected of following “destinies” ██ through ██ are to be terminated as soon as possible after initial discovery.
Description: SCP-XXX is an infection that creates a series of spatial distortions on its victims surroundings, following a usually predictable set of events.
It is currently unknown how SCP-XXX is contracted; subjects will start displaying the symptoms associated with SCP-XXX seemingly at random. Victims so far have few traits in common, varying in age, gender and race, although infection seems to be more common on mentally healthy humans less than ██ years old.
After infection, the subject’s life will be “guided” into a determined path by a set of spatial anomalies that have been known to persist until the subject’s death. Said anomalies can vary greatly between victims, although many recurring “sets” (dubbed “destinies”) have been observed. Currently, the only know method of halting a "destiny" is disabling the infected in a way where it can no longer function by itself (for instance, forcing the victim into a permanent comatose state).
A complete list of all recorded “destinies” can be found in Document-SCP-XXX-D-1 through 94.
All humans infected with SCP-XXX will develop several mental issues over time, regardless of apparent improvements brought to their life by SCP-XXX. The most common problems are severe dissociative disorders, depression, frequent feelings of helplessness, and a constant sensation of being watched. Victims also seem to be completley unaware of the spatial anomalies occuring; even in the event of SCP-XXX materializing an entity in the field of vision of the subject, the infected will act as if nothing unusual happened.
In most cases, the “destiny” will affect only the victim. The few that pose a significant threat to a large quantity of civilians are rare, and usually display obvious signs (for example, “The Patriarch”) or affect only specific groups (“The Messiah”, “The Reunion”). Of the ████ destinies documented so far, only █ pose XK-Class threats, being [REDACTED] how the Foundation first became aware of SCP-XXX, [REDACTED] group of infected. Therefore, due to the large amount of humans infected by SCP-XXX, and the fact that ██% of them are entirely harmless, the Foundation deemed that containment and/or termination of SCP-XXX infected individuals should be focused solely on those following destinies ██ through ██, and ████ through ████.
Addendum-XXX-1: Excerpt from Document-SCP-XXX-D-█, describing the most basic "destinies" observed by Foundation personnel.
D-█ ("Soul Mates"): The most common “destiny”. Involves the sudden appearance of a seemingly “perfect mate” (dubbed D-█-1) for the victim, that will proceed to immediately make acquaintance with the subject. Further anomalies will involve more encounters with D-█-1 every ██ days, with D-█-1 becoming increasingly friendly and intimate with the subject. Invariably, the subject will eventually declare its love for D-█-1. A marriage proposal will occur within 1 month of the subject's declaration, either by D-█-1 (if the infected is female) or the victim (if male). After the marriage, further anomalies will only occur to prevent any attempts of the victim to distance itself from D-█-1; these include sudden pregnancy for either D-█-1 (if the infected is male) or the victim itself (if female), grievous injuries befalling D-█-1, and the development of terminal diseases by D-█-1 (which will never actually expire from the ailment; victims do not seem to become suspicious of the fact, whether or not the situation is brought to their attention by third parties).
Possible ideas: Destinies do not randomly infect people, but are instead sold. As candy, pills, tablets…

SCP-893-1 containing 430 ml of SCP-893-2 |
---|
Item #: SCP-893
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-893-1 is to be held in a standard biohazard containment unit measuring 0.5 m x 0.5 m x 0.5 m located in the Bio-Research Site-██.
SCP-893-1 is to be kept empty at all times. In the event of generation of SCP-893-2 outside a controlled testing environment, SCP-893-1 it is to be immediately drained into the nearest biohazard disposal incinerator.
Description: SCP-893-1 is a one (1) liter glass bottle with a metal screw top. The bottle bears no identifying markings save a handwritten message scrawled in permanent marker reading, "Thanks E███." Any brand of body wash poured inside SCP-893-1 will turn into SCP-893-2. Other liquids will remain unchanged.
SCP-893-2 is a substance similar to the ████████ brand bubble bath in composition. Microscopic analysis of the liquid show groups of spherical particles, 0.001 mm in diameter, currently believed to be eggs of a previously unknown species of cnidarians.
If SCP-893-2 is immersed on water, the eggs within it will hatch after 30 seconds. The new-born creatures, dubbed SCP-893-3, are remarkably similar to a jellyfish, possessing a translucent, radially symmetrical body with up to 30 tentacles. One notable physical trait is a series of hooks, located at the tip of their tentacles, used by SCP-893-3 to latch on other objects.
When a human being comes in contact with water containing instances of SCP-893-3, the creatures will move towards the subject and latch on its body. They will then begin to collect impurities (such as grime and dead skin cells) located around their latching point and, through a currently unknown process, SCP-893-3 will convert the impurities into calcium carbonate and employ it in the construction of coral-like structures (dubbed SCP-893-4) held in place by an adhesive substance produced by SCP-893-3.
After utilizing all impurities in the water, SCP-893-3 will begin to use living tissue from the subject in order to continue the construction of SCP-893-4. At this point, SCP-893-3 will inject a chemical in the subject, which reduces sensibility to pain, in addition to providing feelings of comfort and peacefulness. This process continues until each instance of SCP-893-3 that latched on the victim creates a structure approximately 13 cm in diameter and 6 in height. The creatures will then stop injecting the subject with the chemical, and will begin to pour gametes into the water. New eggs are formed 10 to 15 seconds after fertilization.
When the victim leaves the water, all instances of SCP-893-3 will retract to inside SCP-893-4 and remain inactive, feeding by causing small puncture wounds in the subject and utilizing the blood as nourishment. If subject immerses itself in water, SCP-893-3 becomes active again and will resume in pouring gametes into the water.
A SCP-893-3 infection is not always deadly to the subject, although, depending on the amount of SCP-893-3 that latched to the subject, it can cause severe blood loss over long periods of time. Removal of the structures created during the infection can be done through dermatologic surgery with minimal consequences in milder cases (less than 20% of the subject body area covered by SCP-893-3), although in advanced stages (more than 70% of the subject body area covered by SCP-893-3), the process will cause severe hemorrhage, and should not be attempted.
She was born eighty-something years ago. Her birth was easy. Her mother almost didn’t felt the baby leaving her body. In fact, she hardly felt labor pains at all.
It was a healthy baby. Not too heavy, not too big. Her parents were content with her.
Her childhood was uneventful. She was very quiet and shy. No kid ever heard her voice. In fact, they barely noticed her around; most would accidentally bump into her and not even complain or stagger.
The teachers had nothing to say about her. Her grades were decent, and she was always present, but they didn’t seem to notice her. During roll calls, they only sometimes remembered saying her name, and never bothered to look up to see her raised hand, indicating that she was there.
As she grew older, people would pay even less attention to her. She wasn’t beautiful enough to attract boys, she wasn’t popular enough to hang around the girls; she wasn’t even different enough to attract the attention of bullies. Drifting from her home to school and from school to her home, from Monday to Friday, and staying inside her bedroom staring at the ceiling on weekends.
One day, she came back from school and her parents were gone. There was nothing left on the house but her bedroom. Her simple bed and simple drawer were still in the same place that her parents placed them all those years ago. She cuddled herself on her bed and slept, as she always did.
She woke to the noise of a bulldozer nearby. She quickly got up and went outside to see what was happening. Apparently, they were getting ready to demolish the house. They didn’t notice the thin teenager leaving the building. She proceeded to sit on the grass and watch as the machines destroyed her home. Not once she opened her mouth, and not once did anybody come to ask her who she was or what she was doing there. They destroyed the place and left. When night came, she got up and walked.
She ended up in a restaurant. She was hungry, but had no money. So she slipped by the counter and entered the kitchen. No one noticed as she stole some bread and cheese and made a quick meal. No one noticed when she curled up on the corner and slept. The last employee simply locked the door and left.
For the next seventy-something years, she lived in that restaurant.
The place never changed. Old employees left, new ones came in, but the building never changed. The teenage girl was now an old lady. During all her years there, no one spoke to her. No one noticed her sometimes taking the mop and cleaning the place to pay for all the food that they never noticed she took. She never opened her mouth either. She was just there, simply existing under that small restaurant’s roof. No dreams, no wishes, no hopes, just… existing.
On her final days she decided to sit down and write about her simple, unremarkable life. The whole story ended in less than ten pages, written in some dirty sheets of paper someone forgot on a table.
It was only when she decided to sign it that she noticed that she didn’t remember her name. She sighed; it didn't really matter. She just moved the thin pages aside, rested her head on the table, and slept one last time.
I wake up, but I don't want to open my eyes. No light reaches them, so this makes black my color.
I groan, tired. I really don't want to get up, but it's morning already and I must move.
My sky greets me as I open my eyes.
And this makes blue my color.
I groan again. Why does it always do this? It makes my head dizzy. It makes me shudder.
All the earth rumbles as I rise from my ditch.
Standing, I brush my hands over my body, removing the dirt from it. I raise my eyes and then look at my fields.
And this makes green my color.
Walking around my fields, my mind starts working. I start thinking of important things.
Like… if God is my father, and also their father, doesn't that make us brothers? I shudder at the tought.
I mean, just to think I could have anything to do with—
I see something in the distance. Two small shapes. Two small, deformed, monstrous shapes.
Standing on my fields.
So I walk…
"Hey… hey, Simon. The hell is that?"
"Dunno… don't like the way it's moving, though…"
…towards them.
"It's… it's getting closer."
"Yeah, maybe we should—"
Now red is my color.
"Oh my God, what the hell is that thing?"
Ugly, but still, those things…
"Shoot it! Shoot it, dammit!"
…they…
"Run! Run, go get help!"
"What about you?!"
"I'll try to ho—"
…are…
"ohgodohgodohgodohgod"
…mine…
"ohgodohgodohg—"
…too.
