SCP-XXX is a male humanoid creature approximately 73 cm in height and 11kg in weight. It has black, rough skin with the consistency of heavy sandpaper. The face is triangular and vaguely feline with nose slits and ear holes. SCP-XXX eyes are somewhat slanted and milky white; however it does not suffer from blindness. When passive, it remains in a crouched and is bipedal when in the process of feeding off of carbon dioxide. Its teeth are flat and indicate a vegetarian diet when not consuming carbon dioxide.
SCP-XXX consumes the carbon dioxide emitted from sleeping people or animals. Its skin produces a neurotic toxin in a form of a powder that when applied to the skin, it causes a slight numbing sensation. However, when inhaled it causes the subject to fall into a paralyzing sleep and will last for up to ten hours if carbon dioxide isn’t consumed. The affected will be weak but healthy once awake. When feeding, SCP-XXX will blow the powder into the face of a sleeping person or animal and climb on top of the victim, latching on to the chest area and forcing the mouth open. It will then begin to “suck” the breath out of the person until the lungs deflate, causing death.
SCP-XXX-2 is the remains of a female with the same physical characteristics of its male counterpart. Other than being smaller and female genitalia, it looks exactly the same as the male.
SCP-XXX and SCP-XXX2 where discovered after a rash of deaths to infants attributed to SIDS in (black). It was brought to the Foundation’s attention by Agent Gilded who had been vacationing there at the time. During the investigation, it was discovered that all babies that died were less than six months old. The Foundation retrieved the birth records of the last six months from (black) hospital and an agent was sent to the 12 infants that had been listed. It wasn’t until the 5th night of observation that SCP-XXX had been seen climbing into the window of one of the listed infants.

Special Containment Procedure: SCP-XXX is to be folded and secured in a storage locker on site ██. It should not be removed from the locker without permission from LEVEL 3 or higher.
Description: SCP-XXX is a rectangular blue and white checkerboard blanket with white fringe along its edges measuring 183cmx152cm. A small picture of a 19th century wagon has been stitched in white thread on the lower left corner of the blanket. As of yet, there are no known companies that have used this symbol. Initial investigations have concluded that the blanket has been passed down from generation to generation through the ████████ family since the 19██. SCP-XXX's activity has been sporadic throughout that time with only three (3) confirmed reports of its effects occurring prior to its retrieval. Investigation into the origin of SCP-XXX and how the family became in possession of it is still inconclusive. Analysis of the fabric indicates that the SCP-XXX is constructed of wool and has no anomalous properties. When folded or spread on a flat surface, SCP-XXX doesn't display any of anomalous effects. Through testing, it has been discovered that the effects of SCP-XXX are activated when all four (4) of the following conditions are met:
- Subject must be at least 90% covered in SCP-XXX.
- Must be between the sunset and sunrise local time.
- Subject must be laying on platform raised at least four inches from the floor.
- Any light source within the room cannot be more than 1-2 candela (about the intensity of a nightlight).
When SCP-XXX is active, three humanoids designated SCP-XXX-1, SCP-XXX-2, SCP-XXX-3 will climb out from an unknown space underneath the platform or bed and will stand next to subject covered in SCP-XXX until sunrise. If exposed to light higher than 2 Candela, all three instances will become transparent. However, they will still be physically present in the room until sunrise local time. Due to the light restrictions, night vision cameras are the only way to view the instances with any sort of clarity. Recordings and photographs are difficult though not impossible. As of 5/25/██, there has only been one successful attempt of capturing an instance on film. Subsequent attempts of recording and photography have resulted in dark blurs in place of the instances; however SCP-XXX and other items within the room are normal. When viewed through a two way mirror, only a general outline and minor details can be discerned. Viewers through the two way mirror have described the instances as being obscured and shadowed but are able to get a general idea of what the instances look like.

SCP-XXX-1: The largest and most dominate of the group. It stands approximately 183 cm with large, round eyes and an emaciated frame. The head is rounded and a thin, transparent membrane covers the nose cavity. The shoulders are large, rounded and disproportionately larger than the arms and the skin is a grayish pink. The hands have three fingers and a thumb with serrated claws.
SCP-XXX-2: SCP-XXX-2 is approximately 152 cm and looks the most human like out of the three except for several differences. SCP-XXX-2 appears to be anatomically male and is completely hairless with reddish-brown skin. It has thick bony protrusions of various lengths that extend out of the wrists, elbows and around the crown of the head. SCP-XXX-2 uses the elbows in its wrist [REDACTED] appears not to have a tongue.
SCP-XXX-3: SCP-XXX-3 is a humanoid approximately 152-154cm with an elongated, snout-like face. The most visible trait is its jaws with serrated teeth. It is the hardest to observe due to a secondary effect of bluring itself to the viewer. As of date, none has been able to get a clearer view of SCP-XXX-3.
History: The blanket came to the Foundation’s attention after the murder of 4 members of the ████████ family in ███████ ████████, the sole survivor being 6 year old ██████████ ████████. The bodies were discovered after ██████████ ran to a neighbor’s house after sunrise informing the neighbor that his family had been killed. When the police arrived, they found the remains of all 4 victims scattered throughout the house (see Interview XXX-1). All members of the family had signs of torture and being partially eaten as well as [REDACTED]both bodies of the parents showed evidence of being sexually assaulted. When the police interviewed ██████████, he said he didn’t see what happened because he had been hiding under SCP-XXX. (see Interview XXX-2).
Addendum xxx-1: The blanket’s properties became apparent on the night that local child protective services took custody of ██████████ until family from out of state could pick him up. He had been placed in a foster home for the night and when CPS came to pick him up the following morning, they found the foster mother ███████ ███ partially flayed with deep gashes along [REDACTED] still alive and conscious. She stated that she put ██████████ ████████ to bed around 7:30pm that evening and approximately half an hour later, heard strange sounds coming from his room. When she went to check on him, she saw that he was huddled underneath his blanket with two humanoid beings surrounding him with a third climbing from under the bed. Because of the dark, she couldn’t give any better description except that they were tall. ███████ ███ ran out of the room when they turned [REDACTED]. The Foundation was unable to interview with her after her interview with local investigators as she has been in a coma since ██/██/██.
Addendum-xxx-2: Originally, ██████████ ████████ was thought to be unconsciously manifesting the instances and was put into Foundation custody. Throughout his stay in the Foundation, no instance of SCP-XXX had manifested. At that time, SCP-XXX had been laundered and put into a linen closest on site. Security footage showed Researcher Elliot, who worked the night shift found the blanket and went into one of the break rooms in his lunch. After covering himself with it and lying on a couch, he fell asleep. In approximately fifteen (15) minutes, SCP-XXX-1, SCP-XXX-2, SCP-XXX-3 manifested while Elliot slept. The instances watched him for twenty three (23) minutes without touching him. When Researcher Elliot awoke, he saw the three instances and got up screaming. He proceeded to jump from the couch, screaming and running towards the door. Elliot was attacked by SCP-XXX-1 [REDACTED] 4 people died before lock down procedures could be implemented.
