SCP-XXXX-1 in its active state. |
---|
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be kept in Secure Storage at Site-19 when not undergoing testing.
Description:
SCP-XXXX, in its idle state, is the hilt of an arming sword, likely originating from 14th century England. It consists of a pommel, grip, hand guard, and a minute sliver of the blade. The blade appears to have been snapped off, leaving 4 millimeters of steel at the end of the hilt.
When SCP-XXXX is placed in to a scabbard as if it had a blade and then unsheathed, it will rapidly generate a blade to match the scabbard’s original sword. The replicated blade is identical to the original. This state is temporary, reverting back to its idle state after 12 minutes and 52 seconds. This time has extended itself to 15 minutes and 47 seconds following several fatal tests.
Testing Log XXXX-01
All tests are conducted in a locked room with Agent D████ Agent J███and 1 or more D-Class personnel. D-Class personnel are required to handle SCP-XXXX.
Test XXXX-01a
Item Used: Fencing foil, weapon is lighter than SCP-XXXX.
Result: Generated blade exact in length. Entire sword exact in weight. Blade corporeality: 12 minutes and 52 seconds
Notes: SCP-XXXX is capable of reducing its weight to match the replicated weapon.
Test XXXX-01b
Item Used: 13” dirk
Result: Generated blade exact in length. Entire weapon exact in weight. Blade corporeality: 12 minutes and 52 seconds
Notes: SCP-XXXX’s replication isn’t confined to swords, dagger blades are replicated with the same ease.
Test XXXX-01c
Item Used: Curtana sword replica
Result: Generated blade exact in length. Entire sword exact in weight. Blade corporeality: 12 minutes and 52 seconds
Notes: SCP-XXXX generated a blade with a tip broken, as iconic with the Curtana. Whether this is due to the fact that it was a replica, designed with the tip broken, or because SCP-XXXX may conform to the exact physical state (broken/dirty/perfect/clean) of the scabbard’s sword, is currently unknown. See Test XXXX-01g.
Test XXXX-01d
Item Used: SCP-572
Result: Generated blade exact in length. Entire sword exact in weight. D-9879 charged Agent D████, who fired accordingly but received several blunt strikes across the temple before D-9879 expired. Agent D████ died approximately 3 hours later. Blade corporeality: 12 minutes and 52 seconds
Notes: Anomalous properties are apparent in replicated blades.
Test XXXX-01e
Item Used: Aluminum shaft sword cane.
Result: Generated blade exact in length. Entire sword exact in weight. Blade corporeality: 13 minutes and 15 seconds
Notes: Thought not a standard scabbard, the hilt seems to recognize it as such.
Test XXXX-01f
Item Used: [REDACTED]
Result: Generated blade exact in length. Entire sword exact in weight. Blade corporeality: 13 minutes and 15 seconds
Notes: Stab wounds, even those caused by SCP-XXXX in its active state, will generate a blade matching that which made the wound.
Test XXXX-01g
Item Used: 1796 Cavalry sabre, original sword shows signs of aging and neglect.
Result: Generated blade exact in length. Entire sword exact in weight. Blade corporeality: 15 minutes and 47 seconds
Notes: Every detail of wear and aging is present in the generated blade. SCP-XXXX has an eye for detail.

SCP-XXXX at rest. |

Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained at Site-19 under minimal security. Requests for testing must undergo O-5 scrutiny. Access to personnel is limited to 4 mandatory shifts, each 6 hours long. Personnel assigned containment duty are issued a timer, set to buzz every 6 minutes. Upon every buzz, assigned personnel will speak the phrase, "The world quiets in wait, hush for me."
Description: SCP-XXXX is a construct resembling a carding machine, circa Industrial Revolution. Prior to the discovery of what will be furthermore referred to as "power words", it was thought to be a near indestructible artifact that would sporadically activate with inert results
Dr. Y███'s Notes: It appears to act as a "spell" relay. Upon, anyone, speaking a phrase that corresponds to an action by SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX will respond and appear to "cast" that "spell" just in front of them.
Upon extrapolation of Incident-XXXX-a, it was discovered that SCP-XXXX will respond to any person speaking one of the, perhaps countless, "power words". The response is near instantaneous, save for the few moments after another "power word" has been spoken. The machine can be preoccupied and therefor contained. SCP-XXXX will only respond to phrases spoken, as per Incident-XXXX-b, recorded playbacks have proven to be ineffectual.
List of Known "Power Words":
