Entrance to Site-59

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is locked within an underground facility which is located ██ kilometers east of █████, New Zealand, ███ meters below the surface. (Designated Site-59).

There are to be no less than ten (10) Security Department (SD) personnel on-site at any given time. Under no circumstances should SD personnel be given access to SCP-XXXX.

Research staff is to be rotated out every three months. Psych evaluations are required once a month for all personnel stationed at Site-59.

Update: 2/27/2012

SCP-XXXX is to be monitored at all times with equipment designed to measure and record neural oscillation waves. In the event of an abnormality, Mobile Task Force Tau-6 is to be dispatched to maintain control and prevent a breach of containment.

As of yet, research has yielded no way to safely disable SCP-XXXX.

Under no circumstances are research personnel to attempt to interact with, alter, or perform tests on SCP-XXXX due to the possibility of a repeat of the events that occurred on 02/24/2012.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a large machine of unknown origins. It is suspected that the function of the machine is to amplify natural brainwaves, though the intended purpose of this function is unknown. It is composed of an unknown metal that reflects very little light (an albedo of .002), and has resisted multiple forms of damage, including powered grinders, mechanical cutters, and blowtorches. The machine itself is made up of a central, cylindrical tower measuring three and a half (3.5) meters in diameter and six (6) meters in height, with forty-seven (47) cylindrical pods measuring one (1) meter in diameter and four (4) meters in length protruding from the side. Every ten (10) minutes, vents located on the ends of these pods open and release water vapor into the air. The water vapor measures 75° Kelvin, and it is unknown how or why it does not freeze due to the temperature. Three and a half (3.5) meters from the central tower sits a ring-shaped object of the same metal. The ring is two meters in diameter and is attached to the floor by unknown means. Extensive testing has place the age of the material to be at least 40,000 years olf.

Researchers have tentatively designated it as a BCI (Brain-Computer Interface) based on the very large quantity of delta-type neural oscillation waves that the machine emits. Also emitted by the machine are waves measuring between 23-28 Hz, but are atypical of Beta waves due to their cognitohazardous properties (See Document S59-1 for complete report). These wave have been designated SCP-XXXX-A. It is unknown if there are other frequencies given off by SCP-XXXX that remain undetected due to the limitations of the equipment currently in use.

Scans of the pods have shown that they contain life forms that are the assumed source of both the delta waves, and SCP-XXXX-A. These life forms, known collectively as SCP-XXXX-02-41, very closely resemble humans in brain activity, but differ enough to be assumed as a separate species. Only forty (40) out of the forty-seven (47) assumed specimens show any detectible brain activity. Their physical appearance and origin are both unknown due to the inability of researchers to breach the pods.

SCP-XXXX-02-41 are humanoid creatures measuring approximately two (2) meters in height with reflective olive-colored skin. Their arms are one (1) meter in length, each having three fifteen (15) centimeter-long fingers. Their faces are featureless, not possessing eyes, ears, nostrils, or a mouth - though they have proven to be capable of speech, as seen in Incident Report S56-1M-04. These beings, though large, pose no danger physically as their bodies are vulnerable and weak. However, due to their supernatural mental abilities - including telekinesis and pyrokinesis - they are very resistant to most forms of conventional weaponry and are considered extremely dangerous. Their origin is still unknown.
