Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX, which consists of SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2, is located on site-██ in chamber ███. SCP-XXXX-1 must never be removed from on top of SCP-XXXX-2 unless for testing purposes, and both are to be stored in a stainless-steel safe that is 40cm wide, 40cm long and 30cm tall, which will be stationed on a table in the centre of SCP-XXXX's chamber. Every 6 hours two D-class personnel will enter SCP-XXXX's chamber to sterilise the entire chamber and the safe. One D-class must hold SCP-XXXX-2 with SCP-XXXX-1 on top, and to make sure that both SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 must not come into contact with any material other than the D-class's skin, whilst the second D-class carries out the sterilisation Procedure utilising specialised sterilising equipment. The specilised sterilising equipment will consist of: water of temperature Approximately 80 degrees, a sterilising solution consisting of standard bleach mixed with acetic acid and ████████, a stainless steel cleaning brush, and heavy duty gloves.

Once finished, D-class must carefully place both SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 back into the safe and lock the safe securely before exiting the chamber and being treated for skin damage from possible contact with the sterilising solution.

Description: SCP-XXXX was located in ███████, ███████ inside of an abandoned house, within an old compartment located underneath the stairs- The house was revealed as the sand dune concealing it shifted, due to a sand storm the previous day. The house is alike the ones inside ███████, exept that the walls were decaying due to prolonged exposure to sand inside of the dune. The interior of the house was empty, suggesting that the previous owners moved out, leaving without SCP-XXXX. All searches for information on the previous owners have failed, as the residents of ███████ all say that they have never seen nor heard of the house before.

SCP-XXXX consists of two parts of which will be called SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-1 consists of two wooden sandals, whose anomalous properties only activate when someone wears them on their feet. When inactive, the sandals to be heavily aged and damaged on the soles and decompose rapidly when in contact with anything other than SCP-####-2 or the skin/hair of a human being.
SCP-XXXX-2 is a damaged piece of light grey cloth made from finely woven wool which- unlike SCP-XXXX- does not swiftly decompose when in contact with anything, and is to be used as a place for SCP-XXXX-1 to be upon without decomposing or being held by a human. When SCP-XXXX-1 is inactive and gained some sort of decomposition due to contact with a surface that wasn't either human or SCP-XXXX-2, the decomposition starts to slowly reverse until it appears that only a small amount of decomposition has occured. If SCP-XXXX-1 is being worn by a person, and then is placed upon SCP-XXXX-2, then [DATA EXPUNGED] (The surgery to remove the attatched entrails has caused some irrepairable damage to the sandals, namely to the strap of the left sandal.) Because of this, and also because the 'regeneration' only just lowers recent decomposition, instead of completely removing it, all contact must be authorised by 04 personnel.

When a human wear SCP-XXXX-1 on their bare feet, the anomalous effects activate. The sandals durability and friction appear to increase tenfold and are able to touch any surface without decomposition, plus the sandles gain superbuoyant properties allowing, coupled with the massively increased friction, for the human to be able to traverse most liquids. [See addendum XXXX-1]

Addendum: XXXX-1
"We discovered that, in an unfortunate accident involving the sterilisation liquid and a now-deceased D-class, that the sandals aren't able to float on blood."
~Dr. ████

Addendum: XXXX-2
"We had a D-class wear SCP-XXXX-1 for 6 hours, and it appears that skin which has had prolonged exposure to SCP-XXXX-1 slowly loses all water, apparently being 'pushed' away from SCP-XXXX-1. We didn't notice this fully until patches of skin on the D-class's feet started to grow dry and cracked, eventually peeling off and [DATA EXPUNGED]." ~Dr. ██████
