This first one is… bad. A bad idea, bad tone, bad this, bad that, etc. It was my first idea, however, and my first SCP. I'm keeping it here and leaving it unedited in all of its horrid glory.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-1XXX is to be kept in the two locations of its discovery. Monitoring and research stations designated Command Site-██ and Research Site-██ are positioned 0.02 kilometers to the north of both.

Description: SCP-1XXX is a substance very similar to water. It is transparent and freezes or melts at 0 degrees Celsius in standard atmospheric pressure. In its solid form, it is inert. In liquid form SCP-1XXX dissolves away other substances and converts the contamination into additional SCP-1XXX. Testing on its gaseous and plasmodic forms have been forbidden by order of O5 council.

Any tests not currently forbidden must be supervised by Dr. ██████, head of SCP-1XXX research.

Addendum 1XXX-2:
SCP-1XXX was discovered when an antarctic research facility sent out distress signals concerning their snow-melting and purifying systems. They had inadvertently picked up SCP-1XXX and melted it down, destroying their means of acquiring water. The scientists were interviewed and released after administering Class-A amnesiacs.

Author's notes: the tone is obviously off, especially in the addenda. Another concern is the format for addenda and the fact that this isn't scary, creepy, or dangerous at all. It's completely inert while it's in Antarctica. Our only worry is global warming or an end-o'-the-world scenario if it reaches the magma. I would like to do SCP cross-testing, but that's a bad idea and can ruin an article. I would like to note that in the author's head-canon, 274 (I think it's 274- the coffee machine thing?) could hold the substance in one of those magic cups. 682 would have no reaction at all (the implication is that this stuff is his universe's version of water, but that's really self-indulgent), and refining it in 914 would break 914 for obvious reasons.

So uh, anyone here want to comment? Is that an option on the sandbox? Shit.

Description: SCP-1XXX is an idea I have. A cave hosts a bunch of things that take people away and separate them into rocks and somehow store them perfectly. The geodes (SCP-1XXX-1, collectively) demonstrate a way to connect with others and perform their functions as a whole. The Foundation has found brains, vocal cords, and the rest of a cohesive body; through this, they spoke with the people trapped in rocks. Interviews should reflect a larger threat or maybe that they're replacement parts or toys or something for the young of the species. I want to write a complex system of life for SCP-1XXX, not just the Star Trek "VULCANS LIVE ON VULCAN AND ARE REALLY GOOD HUMANS THAT ARE LOGICAL" or that anything has just one purpose or main hook like that. My hooks should outnumber the Ball of Sharp.

Hell, maybe I'll go back to the single-mindedness. This could be a sect of the Church of the Broken God operating within a different species. It doesn't really work the Church though. Not very clockwork or steampunk-y.

I should articulate my ideas better.

The idea for this Tale is that 173 is a biological organism that becomes trapped in the stone when observed. Naturally, it wants nothing more than to remain unobserved forever. It slaughters with indiscretion because it desires freedom.
