Item #: SCP-XXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: News media is to be monitored for mentions of anomalous pets. Any such mention is to be investigated by MTF Omega-3 ("Zoo Keepers"). If an instance of SCP-XXX-C is found then amnesiacs and cover stories are to be used as necessary, and the instance is to be sent to Site-██. The Internet is to be regularly searched for SCP-XXX-A. Any instance of SCP-XXX-A found is to be scrubbed by Foundation computer experts, and MTF Omega-3 is to be sent to the originators of the instance to investigate and administer amnesiacs.
Instances of SCP-XXX-C are housed in the anomalous animal containment wing at Site-██. Testing of instances of SCP-XXX-C may be done with the permission of Dr. ██████. Personnel wishing for new instances may submit a written request to Dr. ██████. If she approves, she will procure the new instance herself.
Description: SCP-XXX-A is the mailing address [REDACTED]. The street █████ does not exist in ████████, and an extensive search of area code █████ has resulted in no leads. Any letter or package sent through the post to SCP-XXX-A vanish mid-route. Sending a letter or package to the adjacent house numbers ███ or ███ on the same street result in the letter or package being returned to sender.
SCP-XXX-B is a business, organization or entity associated with SCP-XXX-A, which is simply known as "Mail Order Pet Shop". Sending a letter with a return address to SCP-XXX-B at SCP-XXX-A, with the letter mentioning a specific type of animal, will result in an instance of SCP-XXX-C being delivered five (5) to seven (7) business days later to the return address. The letter does not need to actually place an order for an animal: simply mentioning an animal in any context will provoke a delivery of SCP-XXX-C. Letters not mentioning a specific type of animal will produce no response; all requests for a catalogue of available animals have been ignored. Payment is not needed in order to receive the instance of SCP-XXX-C. All checks which have been sent with requests for animals have gone uncashed. SCP-XXX-C will appear at the front entrance to the return address sometime during daylight hours, at a moment when no one is directly observing the front entrance; no delivery person or delivery vehicle has ever been observed. If the front entrance is monitored by cameras the cameras will momentarily fail, and SCP-XXX-C will appear during that moment.
SCP-XXX-C is an animal, which will always be delivered within a living environment or a means of transporting the animal. SCP-XXX-C will never be the type of animal mentioned in the letter which provoked its delivery, but it always imitate some of the behaviors of the mentioned animal. Where the physiology of the animal would prevent the behaviour from being imitated, the imitation is achieved through anomalous means. What enables the anomalous behaviour is unknown, since all instances of SCP-XXX-C have gross, fine and cellular anatomy identical to non-anomalous members of the same species, as well as identical biochemistry and DNA.
Examples of instances of SCP-XXX-C:
SCP-XXX-C-12:
Animal mentioned: Guinea pig.
Animal received: Humpback anglerfish (Melanocetus johnsonii).
SCP-XXX-C-12 was received in a wire cage stocked with cedar saw-dust, pellet feed and a water bottle. SCP-XXX-C-12 "swims" through the air via unknown means at the same height an adult guinea pig holds its body off the ground, and can move over any obstacle a normal adult guinea pig could. It is constantly coated in a film of salt water which never dries out. It has no difficulty eating vegetable matter, even though its teeth are completely unsuited for the task, and has survived for over a year on a diet of vegetables, even though anglerfish are obligate carnivores.
SCP-XXX-C-13:
Animal mentioned: Deep-sea anglerfish.
Animal received: Domestic rat (R. norvegicus).
SCP-XXX-C-13 was received in a fish tank filled with salt water. It was dead on arrival. Autopsy revealed that, though its lungs were full of salt water, the cause of death wasn't drowning, but extreme decompression sickness.
SCP-XXX-C-21:
Animal mentioned: Breeding pair of piranha.
Animal received: Breeding pair of golden hamsters (Mesocricetus auratus).
SCP-XXX-C-21 was received in a fish tank full of fresh water. They breathe underwater, and "drown" when they attempt to breathe air. They swim by stroking their paws through the water, though the speed and agility with which they swim is much greater than should be possible by that means of locomotion. They eat flesh and predate on fish like piranha, but store food in their cheeks like normal hamsters.
After several months in Foundation possession they mated in the manner of normal hamsters. The female grew gravid over time like a normal hamster, but engaged in no nesting behavior. After giving birth it paid no attention to its infants, similar to a female piranha laying eggs. The infants were curled up into tight little balls, and grew in size as time went by, without receiving any milk from the mother. When they reached the age that normal hamster weaned they uncurled and began swimming and eating like their parents.
SCP-XXX-C-30:
Animal mentioned: Corn snake.
Animal received: Worker ant (Tetramorium caespitum).
SCP-XXX-C-30 was received in a terrarium which was fitted out in a manner typical for one used to house a corn snake. SCP-XXX-C-30 moves like a normal ant, and will climb over vertical and upside-down surfaces, unlike a corn snake. It seems to have the same senses and sensory range as a corn snake, but still waves its antenna when sensing its surroundings. It has shown no anomalous equivalent to the constricting behavior of corn snakes. When presented with a dead mouse, it will run at the mouse with a speed much greater than an ant should be able to achieve, and when it reaches the mouse its mouth (but not mandibles or the rest of its head) swells to an enormous size and partially engulfs the mouse. It then engages in a "gulping" behavior which moves the mouse further into its mouth. After the mouse is fully engulfed in the mouth it is slowly moved to SCP-XXX-C-30's thorax, and then from the thorax to the metasoma (abdomen), with its body elastically stretching and shrinking to accommodate. When the mouse is fully in the metasoma SCP-XXX-C-30 will attempt to move to a resting place. However, since its thorax and legs will be lifted off of the ground due to its distended metasoma, its legs fruitlessly wave around in the air. An hour later the waving of its legs will slow down and then stop, which is presumed to be SCP-XXX-C-30 going into a dormant state.
As time passes the bulk within the metasoma shrinks; it is unknown where the mass goes. When the mouse has been digested down to hair and claws the anus will momentarily swell and the remains will be expelled, at which point SCP-XXX-C-30 will be able to move again.

Special Containment Procedures: When not in use SCP-XXX is to be kept in a containment locket at Site ██. It may be removed for testing by anyone of clearance Level 2 or higher.
Description: SCP-XXX is an apparently normal and unmodified █████ brand television set. When unplugged it shows no anomalous characteristics, and disassembly shows that its component parts exactly match what is supposed to be in a television of its make and model, with no missing or additional components. When plugged in, regardless of the input signal (or lack thereof) or the channel the TV is set to, it will show a very particular type of silent scene. It is assumed that all scenes take place at night, since no observed scene has had anything to indicate that it took place during the day, and in all scenes including a digital clock the clock indicates that it's nighttime. Even though all scenes are well lit, it is assumed that all scenes are supposed to take place during darkness, both because of the lack of shadows in any observed scene, and one observed scene showing miles of well lit open plains under a dark sky filled with stars.
Every scene is centered on two figures. One is a sleeping adult human, and the other is a blurry-edged humanoid silhouette standing next to the human, its head bent down at an angle in apparent observation of the sleeper. The scene can play out in one of two ways. In a type 1 scene, which make up 12% of the scenes, the sleeper remains asleep for four to nine hours, after which the TV will, without any transition, shift to a new scene at a new location with a new sleeper. In a type 2 scene, which make up 88% of the scenes, the human sleeps for one to eight hours, wakes up, becomes aware of the nearby presence, and turns to look at the silhouette. At this point the TV turns itself off, and cannot be manually turned back on. Several minutes to seven hours later the TV will turn itself back on to the start of a new scene.
Attempting to correlate type 2 scenes with reports of home invasion has produced no results, so it is concluded that the displayed scenes are being manufactured by the SCP, rather than the scenes reflecting external reality.
Addendum: On ██/██/20██, Agent W██████ was in the middle of a mission which required that a radio beacon be inside of his body. On that night the Foundation lost the beacon's signal. The agent's cellphone couldn't be contacted, and ringing the land line phone of his hotel room got no response. Agent V███ was sent to investigate. The instant Agent V███ opened Agent W██████'s room with a master card key the beacon signal came back. Agent W██████ was in the room, claimed to have not left the room, that his cellphone was on, and that he'd been asleep the entire time the beacon's signal had been lost. A thorough investigation determined that Agent W██████ was telling the truth, and that the strangeness had been related to the mission he was on.
██ months later, on ██/██/20██, when Agent W██████ was visiting Site ██, SCP-XXX Researcher X████ saw him and identified him as a sleeper from a type 2 scene. That scene had been displayed on the same date that the beacon's signal had been lost. Further, the signal was lost at the exact instant that Agent W██████ looked at the silhouette and the TV turned off, while the signal came back at the exact instant that the TV turned back on.
Video log
Agent W██████, Agent V███ and Researcher X████ are in a conference room, viewing the tail end of a recording of the scene in which Agent W██████ appeared.
W██████ is pale and horrified looking, staring off at nothing.
W: Oh God… I remember now. That… it took me…
X: Took you where?
W: Took me…
A humanoid silhouette appears behind W██████.
V███ and X████ see the silhouette and begin to rise from their seats, startled and alarmed. W██████ appears confused.
The silhouette places a hand on W██████'s shoulder, starling him. V███ and X████, still rising, begin reaching for their sidearms.
W██████'s face contorts with horror, his mouth opening as if to scream. V███ and X████ grasp their sidearms.
W██████ and the silhouette vanish. V███ and X████ point their sidearms at empty space.
Requesting the immediate reclassification of SCP-XXX from Safe to Euclid. - Researcher X████

Item #: SCP-XXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX-1 and SCP-XXX-1-A are to be kept at Site ██ in a 5m x 5m locked closet-free room, at least 200m from the nearest on-site living quarters, with the room being accessible via a double-door. The room is to be brightly lit, with the light's power supply to be backed up by an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) capable of of keeping the room lit at fully intensity for at least 3 (three) days; the UPS is to be kept inside the room. The room is to be checked daily, both for burnt-out lights, which are to be replaced immediately, and to ensure the UPS is fully functional.
When not being tested SCP-XXX-1 is to be placed in SCP-XXX-1-A, with SCP-XXX-1-A being open, both of which are to be kept in a 30cm x 30cm x 30cm locked plexiglass case, which is to be affixed to a wheeled table. The table is preferentially to be in the center of the room, but may be moved elsewhere within the room as needed.
Testing of SCP-XXX-1 or SCP-XXX-1-A may be done within its room with the approval of Dr. Xian. Equipment needed for testing is to be moved into the room. The items being tested are to be kept illuminated while being tested.
All activity in the containment room, both maintenance and testing, must be done during local daylight hours.
Testing of SCP-XXX-2 and SCP-XXX-3 is suspended indefinitely.
Electronic copies of documents SCP-XXX-A through SCP-XXX-D are stored in the Foundation database, and are accessible to anyone with Level 2 or greater clearance, or with Level 1/XXX clearance. The original copies of documents A through C are contained in a locked filing cabinet in Dr. Xian's office, and may be lent to anyone with the proper clearance at her discretion.
Anyone testing SCP-XXX-1 or SCP-XXX-1-A, or anyone who has read any of documents A through D, must read document A, and must report immediately to both Dr. Xian and a Level 4 personnel upon experiencing any events similar to the events described in document A. Acting upon any event similar to those described in document A requires the approval of Dr. Xian and two (2) Level 4 personnel.
Description: SCP-XXX-1 is an ornate wrought-iron skeleton key, visually identical to the type made by █████ ████ during the 18██'s. All of its physical properties appear to be normal for a wrought-iron item, save for the fact that its shadow is always dark and sharp-edged, even in lighting conditions where its shadow should be faint and fuzzy-edged. The mechanism by which it produces this anomalous shadow is unknown.
SCP-XXX-1-A is a velvet lined wooden case, which can be used for both displaying and containing items of SCP-XXX-1's dimensions. It has no known or suspected anomalous properties. It is unknown if it is necessary for the containment of SCP-XXX-1.
SCP-XXX-1's second anomalous property becomes evident when it is brought into a closet which is attached to a bedroom (exactly what counts as a closet or bedroom in this context has yet to be determined). Doing this causes barely visible cracks to form in the wall opposite the closet's door, forming the outline of a door, its side edges being at least several centimeters distant from the closet's sides (with a maximum width of about 1m) and its top edge being several centimeters distant from the ceiling. This door is SCP-XXX-2. So long as SCP-XXX-2 remains, the contents of the closet (including fixtures like shelving) become intangible. If pushed, the door will silently swing open, though observing the closet wall from the opposite side will show no changes. Any items which were propped up against the door will remain in place, held there by an unknown force. Similarly, any fixtures attached to the door will detach from the door and be held suspended in thin air. The door will spontaneously close and shut upon removing SCP-XXX-1 from the closet, causing SCP-XXX-2 to disappear and the contents of the closet to become tangible again. The door can be easily held or propped open in the absence of SCP-XXX-1, which will cause the closet's contents to retain their intangible state.
Through SCP-XXX-2 is SCP-XXX-3, an extra-dimensional space. The portion of SCP-XXX-3 immediately accessible via SCP-XXX-2 is an unlit corridor, approximately 2m wide by 9m tall; it is unknown how long the corridor is. The space inside the corridor absorbs light, so that even with powerful flashlights visibility is at most 3m. On the side of the corridor to which SCP-XXX-2 attaches, spaced at distances varying from 1m to 2m, are doors. Each door has a rusty doorknob and is mounted on rusty hinges, yet in spite of the rust can be easily and silently opened. Opening a door causes a connecting instance of SCP-XXX-2 to form and open in another bedroom closet. The doors closest to the original entrance will causes SCP-XXX-2 to manifest in the bedroom closets closest to the original closet, while more distant doors will manifest SCP-XXX-2 in more distant closets.
There is no known limit to the distance across which the corridor and doors can operate. The SCP was tested on a privately owned Foundation island at ██.██████°N, ██.██████°W, on which there is a house with five bedrooms. From the entrance to SCP-XXX-3, the two closest doors to the left and the two closest doors to the right opened up to the closets of the other four bedrooms in the house. The third closest door on the right, 7m away from the entrance, opened to a closet on the island of ████████, ██km distant from the house, while the third closest door on the left, 9m away, opened to a closet on the island of ████, ██km distant from the house.
On the side of the corridor opposite from the doors, spaced at intervals of 10m to 20m, are entrances to other corridors, which meet the first corridor at not-quite right-angles. The light-absorption property of the extra-dimensional space is even worse in these corridors, making it difficult to see down them. From what little has been seen, they rapidly change from artificial corridors to natural stone tunnels. No exploration of these other corridors/tunnels has been performed.
Testing of SCP-XXX-2 and SCP-XXX-3 has been suspended due to the fact that no one has developed a feasible method of preventing a containment breach should anything go awry. If anyone has an idea for a feasible containment procedure, submit it to me as a written proposal. If I think it will work I'll pass it along to 05, and if they think it will work the special containment procedure will be updated and testing can resume. — Dr. Xian

Bah! Already too long. I guess I'd have to make it a foundation tale.
