Item #: SCP-XXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be held in a 5m x 5m x 5m room with windows for observation. The windows must be a minimum of 4 cm (1.5 in) thick and constructed of industry standard Plexiglas. One entry hatch with a standard
Description: SCP-XXX is the collective swarm of flesh-eating micro-robotic spiders found in [DATA EXPUNGED] on ██/██/19██. The spiders were found on a massive web constructed from keratin, the protein found in the hair and nails of mammals. The actual capture of the spiders was accidental (see Log-XXX-1).
Each individual piece of SCP-XXX is a spider-like micro-robot approximately 1 cm (0.4 in) in diameter. Almost all the parts of a spider are replicated in the robots, including the spinnerettes, mouthparts, legs, and eight crude eyes that glow a dull red in the absence of light. None of the materials used are uncommon on Earth, suggesting SCP-XXX is entirely man-made.
Addendum: [Optional additional paragraphs]
GRUMBLEROOMBA
Item #: SCP-XXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX travels around the 4th floor of the research wing of Site-██. Researchers and Class-D personnel are advised to avoid SCP-XXX to keep it from getting too annoyed.
Description: SCP-XXX appears to be a standard 500-series iRobot Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner. It travels around like a normal Rooma, cleaning the floor and avoiding objects, including people.
SCP-XXX was purchased by Dr. ██████ at [DATA EXPUNGED]
SCP-XXX tends to grumble to itself while cleaning, however, any attempts at communication have resulted in SCP-XXX shouting obcenities at any researchers involved. The only language it seems to know is English, but it has picked up several Spanish insults and one German insult from the researchers at Site-██. SCP-XXX shouts obcenities at anyone who gets in its way.
SCP-XXX goes back to its charging station like a standard Roomba would. Its battery seems to last approximately twenty times longer than a standard Roomba. It takes approximately twice as long to charge as a standard Roomba. Attempts to move its base station have resulted in situations that could damage SCP-XXX.
SCP-XXX has never been observed emptying its bin. The bin appears to be sealed shut, and all attempts to open it have resulted in a low-amperage, high-voltage shock to any personnel touching it. Attempts to access via robotic means are being assessed.
For further testing, Dr. ██████ purchased a second Roomba. Upon contact with SCP-XXX, the second Roomba started vibrating, and SCP-XXX [DATA EXPUNGED]
Addendum XXX-01: Dr. ██████ lost an earring on ██/██/████ during the first week of free roam, and the earring appeared the next day next to the charging station. SCP-XXX appears to understand items of value. Further testing suggested.
Addendum XXX-02: Several other items of value that have been dropped have also appeared next to the charging station. SCP-XXX seems to be able to detect the difference between important items and trash, despite one of the important items being an otherwise unremarkable scrap of paper.
