Special Containment Procedures: SCP-160 is stored inside a box inside storage within Site-██, when not used. SCP-160 has been moved to an area that only researchers involved in research involving SCP-160 are to know.
Testing of SCP-160 is only permitted for ten (10) D-class personnel during the end of the month terminations, under supervision by researchers of at least level 3 clearance. The D-Personnel may only be asked five (5) questions each before being terminated.
Testing of SCP-160 has been changed to only allow one D-Class personnel questioned, under strict supervision of researchers. Questions must be put under review and approved before being asked.
Description: Physically, SCP-160 is a Japanese Noh mask. Only when worn does SCP-160's anomalous properties begin to show.
When the mask is first donned, the wearer's personality and mental state remain to be intact. The subject can then be asked a question or be shown material that is not "Factually Accurate" (See Addendum A). Then the subject enters a contemplation period that can last from either ███ ████ to ███ ████. Once they have completed the contemplation period subjects will either correct the factually inaccurate information, or answer the question in a precise and thorough manner. During contemplation periods, subjects may ask for different materials for experimental purposes. Discretion is up to the researcher to grant or disallow. Through the use of SCP-160 many breakthroughs in the field of science have been achieved, notably the discovery of Neptune and Pluto.
It is believed that the mask allows the wearer to enter a heightened state of logic, mathematical and scientific ability. Subjects were tested in these departments before donning the mask, and after. A noticeable improvement in scores were observed.
Researchers are warned that asking the same wearer more then five (5) questions can be dangerous, and may reveal things that the researcher does not want to know, such as personnel affairs of the researcher in question. The wearer will, undoubtedly and without err, be driven insane and is such considered disposable.
Note: All researchers wishing to use SCP-160 must see Addendum 160-D.
Addendum 160-A- What's true or not seems to follow some certain patterns. Only things that are scientific, mathematical and/or factual can be answered. Opinionated answers do not seem to have any effect on the wearer. Asking things which is beyond observation or experimentation will yield no answers as well. Questions that have shown to provide no answer can be summed into
- Opinionated questions. If A is better than B, where A and B are non-mathematical, scientific or logical.
- Isolated events. Questions that have no way to be solved with given datum.

"It has been three weeks since I have started wearing SCP-160. I have never felt so enlightened... so correct.

It started off so simply. We looked out to the outer planets, and it felt odd to imagine that was all.

I saw our galaxy, Sol in the centre with the rest of the planets orbiting.
I saw Earth, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. I saw Uranus, and believed that was it.
I was lied to, just like all of these pathetic beings.
But my mind expanded, and I saw that gradual tilt that Uranus had, it wasn't just from gravity from Sol.
There had to be more.
My mind that quick mathematical calculations, so simple now that I knew how to do it.
There was a planet nearby.... Neptune, that would be its name.
We sent this information off to civilian researchers... and Neptune entered our astronomical world.
Yet I knew that wasn't it. There was one more... a small, frozen sphere still out there.
I was told this process took several hours by my companions. But it felt like mere seconds. Those idiots.
I see now I was the only one fit--no, destined-- to lead us.
Everyone else is so vile and despicable, they are all the scum of the earth, fit only to serve under me.

**Dr. █:** Anyways, I would like you to answer some questions. //Dr. █ proceeds to pull out some star charts// Here we have the [DATA EXPUNGED] nebula's. Is there anything you could tell us about them?
//D-160-█ peers at the charts. They grab Dr. █'s pen and begins writing notes and lines. Approximately 3 minutes later, they are finished.//
**D-160-█:** [DATA EXPUNGED]. So tell me, Doc. Does your wife know what you do?
**Dr. █:** W-What--
**D-160-█:** Of course she doesn't. You're not allowed to tell. Do you know what she does?
**Dr. █:** Are--
**D-160-█:** It's not hard to tell. You've been the same for this week. No changes, no differences. Yet, you always mention your wife being soooo happy. I remember you telling us that just last week she went to visit her parents. Yet, you didn't get a call from her at all, did you? And didn't she return before █:██ PM?

**D-160-█:** Wake up and smell the shit doctor. She's going to be at ██ █████ Dr. tonight. Maybe if you get off early you can see her.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-160 is stationed inside a normal 20 m by 20 m, constructed out of non-reflective material, preferably oak wood. Two guards must be stationed outside, preventing access to SCP-160 unless cleared by staff of clearance LEVEL 2. It is important that the guards do not know what the room contains.
Inside the room, one video camera may be placed perpendicular to the mirror. It is imperative that there never be direct feed of the mirror from a frontal view. People within line of sight of the mirror have been reported to have an urge to stare into the mirror. Subjects showing this urge can be restrained and moved away from sight without much incident, and is generally recommended to do so unless it is for research purposes. Once moved, the subject has no further desire to stare at SCP-160 unless returned to line of sight.
It is strongly recommended to use CLASS-D personnel for testing. If researchers are used, they must be forced out before they have viewed 300 seconds of their own reflection.
Description: SCP-160 is an Old Victorian mirror, circa the 1800's. The frame of the mirror appears to be masterfully crafted, with intricate designs. The mirror itself has been tested and proven to be normal silver. Natural and/or man made lighting has no bearing in the room. The room is always light as if there was a candle placed in the location of SCP-160, with an unflinching flame.
When any living subject stands in front of the mirror, their reflection appears for exactly 33 seconds, then the image in the mirror fades out, leaving the subject in front of a blank mirror. At 44 seconds, a reflection reappears. More often then not, the reflection is incorrect and follows one of these guidelines.
- A younger version of the subject.
- A older version of the subject.
- An opposite gender version of the subject.
- Different species (So far to date: A dog, gecko, sparrow and [DATA EXPUNGED])
- Subject that appears similar except for [DATA EXPUNGED]
- [DATA EXPUNGED]
After 300 seconds of viewing, the reflection disappears once again and subjects eye's start dimming and blackening, till they become blind. Leaving before the 300 seconds up and returning seems to start a new counter, rather then continuing from the old.
Indirect viewing seems to achieve the same results as physically being in front of it. Any live feed focused on the mirror directly produces the same results for the viewer(s) as physically being in front of it.
Note: If the reflection in the mirror during phase 2 of the SCP is of the same age, there is a high possibility that the reflection is from another reality. There is also a possibility that the reflection can, and will swap places with the viewer. Current testing supports this, but more viable data is needed.
Addendum:
Test One
Subject: D-160-1
Personnel is shown pushed in through the door, and begins cursing. Cursing stops as soon as personnel spots SCP-160. D-160-1 is shown moving toward the mirror and stands in front of it, approximately 1 meter away.
D-160-1 stands in front of the mirror for 33 seconds. Subject's reflection appears to disappear. Subject remains standing in a stupor.
11 seconds after, or 44 seconds after subject has stared into mirror. A younger variation of the subject is then seen in the mirror. D-160-1 is shown to be surprised, but continues observing their reflection.
[DATA EXPUNGED]
300 seconds later, the reflection disappears. D-160-1 reports eye sight dimming, and 3 days later is medically blind. D-160-1 terminated.
Test Two
Subject: D-160-6
Personnel is shown walking through the door. D-160-6 immediately walks up to SCP-160 and begins staring.
33 seconds D-160-6's reflection disappears, and 11 seconds after that, just reappears.
D-160-6 is shown to be startled, and begins conversing with the mirror. Voices picked up, but sounds like gibberish.
Light in room flickers, and is then turned off at around 120 seconds in. Light returns at 122 seconds. Subject seems to be standing in front of SCP-160, no reflection accounted for. D-160-6 turns around and walks out the door.

Special Containment Procedures: Is to be kept locked in an oak room with no access to light. All recording instruments must not emit any form of visible light. Researchers are reminded that photographs must be taken with non-flash cameras.
Description: SCP-697 appears to be a living ray of light about 1 meter long, and half a meter wide. Although SCP-697 is made of light, it does not illuminate farther then its "body". In the presence of visible light, it can camouflage with the color of its environment.
