Only known photograph of SCP-XXXX-1, taken by SCP-XXXX-CAS3, two hours after first contact with SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Due to its extradimensional properties, SCP-XXXX-1 cannot technically be contained by any known structures or processes. However, given the fact that SCP-XXXX-1 only enters our dimensional plane to retrieve SCP-XXXX, and given that this randomly relocates SCP-XXXX, containment of SCP-XXXX is our only concern.

SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a locked storage unit, encased in a locked stainless steel shell. Access to storage unit must be approved by the acting supervisor, and any handling of SCP-XXXX must be done so with Level 5 containment suits.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an orb-shaped object, exactly ten (10) centimeters in diameter, weighing 21 grams, which constantly emits light from its surface. The light given off is of an unwavering green hue, with the exception of direction human interactions (see below). SCP-XXXX-1 is an extradimensional humanoid figure, described as covered in black, non-reflective clothing, with gleaming red eyes.

Chronological History

07/19/2005: The first encounter with SCP-XXXX was in the forests of [REDACTED], Lithuania, after reports of a missing camping group. Upon arrival, all five men were found, each with their eyes bored out, and the majority of their chest cavities [REDACTED]. Found with them were several digital cameras, two of which contained photographs of SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1. An additional video was recorded (detailed in Addendum XXXX-1) which showed the behavior of SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1.

11/12/2008: A report of a glowing orb in northern forests of [REDACTED], Russia surface, and an SCP retrieval team is dispatched. Upon arrival, SCP-XXXX appears to be partially inside the trunk of a massive pine tree, though no signs of impact can be see at its edges. Agent ████, lacking gloves, removes SCP-XXXX from the trunk. The missing space in the trunk is perfectly smooth, citing possible extradimensional behavior by SCP-XXXX. At this point, SCP-XXXX-1 slowly began changing hue. One (1) hour later, SCP-XXXX had a solid blue hue. Two (2) hours later, it was bright red. With ten (10) minutes of stopping at a red hue, SCP-XXXX-1 appeared at the site. Agent ████ ordered his team to fire upon it, with no noticeable damage or effects. Ignoring fire taken, SCP-XXXX-1 killed each of the three persons who had come into direct contact with SCP-XXXX, including Agent ████, doing so by gouging their eyes and [REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX-1 then retrieved SCP-XXXX and disappeared instantly.

04/22/2011: Another report of a glowing orb was relayed to the SCP Foundation, this time from a forest in northern Alberta, Canada. A team was dispatched with strict orders to prevent all direct contact with SCP-XXXX. Using Level 5 containment suits, SCP-XXXX was retrieved and moved to Research Site-██. There have since been no contact with SCP-XXXX-1.

Addendum XXXX-1: The following is a transcription of video footage found in camera of Lithuanian campers. All dialogue has been translated to English.

Two males are inside a cabin, one holding the camera, the other holding SCP-XXXX
SCP-XXXX-CAS1: "Wasn't this green earlier?"
SCP-XXXX-CAS2: "Yeah, then it was blue. Now it's the color of blooooood!"
SCP-XXXX-CAS1: [laughs] "Where is Aleksandras, we have more beer to drink!"
SCP-XXXX-CAS2: "Not sure, probably out taking pictures like a little girl. Never will I understand his obsession with fores-"
[SCP-XXXX-CAS3 can be heard screaming from outside the cabin, SCP-XXXX-CAS1 follows SPC-XXXX-CAS2 outside, orb in hand]
SCP-XXXX-CAS1: "What the fuck! Aleksandras?! Where is he?!"
SCP-XXXX-CAS2: "What… what is that?"
[Sound can heard approaching quickly, a combination of heavy wheezing and strange clicking and snapping]

SCP-XXXX-CAS1: "Jesus Christ, what the fuck! Run, go, fucki-"
SCP-XXXX-1: "-minemineminemineMINEMINEMINEMINE"
[SCP-XXXX-CAS1 falls back, dropping the camera. Screaming can be heard from both SPC-XXXX-CAS1 and -CAS2, as well as the sound and speech produced by SCP-XXXX-1. After thirty (30) seconds, both are silent, and the sound from SCP-XXXX-1 can no longer be heard. The glow from SPC-XXXX vanishes as well. The camera runs until the tape is full.]

Addendum XXXX-2: The following is an audio log from Dr. ████, researcher for SCP-XXXX.

Dr. ████: "Woof… what a week. Testing on SCP-XXXX went well, and by "well" I mean that no one died. We haven't, however, gotten much new information to work off of. Whatever material it is composed of, it's completely indestructible by any methods we tried. Drilling, hammering, explosives, none of it even scratched it. So, that means no samples for extensive testing. The fact that it is so immensely strong, however, is intriguing."
[audible sigh is heard, Dr. ████ removes his glasses and sets them down]
Dr. ████: "Per usual subconscious effect testing, we had D-5593 sleep in a bunk bed in the same room as SCP-XXXX. The first two nights, nothing. The morning of the third, however, he woke up screaming. When we inquired about it, he said there was a man in his dream, just… staring. He heard the sounds of bones snapping, horrible wheezing, strange clicking noises, and all he saw in this veil of darkness was two blood red eyes. He said he'd never felt sheer terror like that before. Two more nights of sleeping there, and each morning he awoke screaming, each night having been in the presence of what we believe to be a shade of SCP-XXXX-1. The medical staff told me he wasn't damaged physically nor mentally beyond light shock, so… so I decided to sleep in the room."
[Dr. ████ pauses, sighing and nervously shifting in his seat]
Dr. ████: "So I went to bed, and sure enough, I was in an impossibly dark place, only seeing a pair of glowing red eyes. The terror struck me too, but I was fully lucid, and somehow kept myself together. I approached the eyes, and soon found myself standing in front of a figure matching the photo we have of SCP-XXXX-1. I… I asked his name, what he was, what he wanted. He stood in silence for what felt like hours, unflinching, staring at me… but then, in a deep, raspy voice, said one thing… that he… he only wanted to see their light again. I asked him who "they" were, what he was talking about… and he said, "Please… return our light… we miss the light…" And I…"
[Dr. ████ can be heard softly crying]
Dr. ████: "…I felt the gloom he felt."
