Item #: SCP-XXXX / Anomalous Object 17C
Object Class: Safe/Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Any samples of SCP-XXXX must be contained in Storage Locker █ in Site 17, and any reported cases of infection must have the infected individual amputated and/or terminated, before the subject reaches SCP-XXXX-2 stage. Any person handling any SCP-XXXX-2 subject must wear thick full-body armour to prevent infection.
Description: SCP-XXXX are a set of sharp arrowhead-like obsidian shards, which when it comes into contact with organic matter, it is replaced with a compound of stone and .
SCP-XXXX was retrieved from a Marshall, Carter and Dark auction house during "Operation: █████████ █████", along with SCPs ████, ████, ████, and ████. Origin of SCP-XXXX is unknown.
The conversion of the shards causes considerable intense pain to the host, as nerves are replaced with a crystalline copy, followed by replacement of muscle tissue and skin. Bones stay intact, possibly due to calcium composition.
This conversion would affect the entire host body, creating a living "Golem" of obsidian, designated as SCP-XXXX-2. Any SCP-XXXX-2 subjects are still considered sentient, can understand speech, and respond to "Closed Questions" through nods and head shakes. Resident psychologist, Dr. ████████, has conducted several interviews on subjects of SCP-XXXX and show similar results.
The conversion period lasts up to fifteen (15) to twenty (20) minutes, depending on the area initially affected. Reversal of infection is impossible. Amputation is recommended to stop spread. Amputating the infected limb would break said limb into small shards like SCP-XXXX. If the limb infected is flailed around (usually due to pain and/or panic), loose shards would deploy as projectiles, viable to spread more of SCP-XXXX between people, and increase infection rates.
Addendum 1: Upon cross-checking with other SCPs, research onto the relations of SCP-XXXX and SCP-409 are still ongoing.
Addendum 2: When going through Standard Non-Organic Research, SCP-XXXX reacted wildly with a medium electrical charge, causing the deaths of █ researchers and $██,███ of damage. Current security measures are currently being evaluated.
