Clandestine and worldwide, the SCP Foundation operates beyond jurisdiction, empowered and entrusted by every major world government with the task of containing ‘items which jeopardize normalcy.’ While the rest of mankind dwell in the light, we must stand in the darkness to combat it, contain it, and shield it from the public, so that others may live in a sane, normal world. We secure. We contain. We protect.
What I Have So Far (Summary)
Setting: Neptune Station, Sector-23. Located 4775 meters beneath the Scotia Sea, next to SCP-2157 (not a main list SCP, invented for this story). Setting is a closed circle - no additional help is coming.
What Goes Wrong: Absolutely no idea. And there, as they say, is the rub. Whatever goes wrong, it should be interesting sound-wise. For example, if a monster-type thing, the I'd get the sound of it moving and attacking the protagonists; if a dimensional anomaly, I can play with bizarre and unnatural reverbs, pitch bends/shifts, temporal compression, etc. Whatever goes wrong, I'd like to have most of the staff dead/worse-than-dead with a tiny handful driven insane in various ways (either directly by whatever went wrong, or indirectly as PTSD or similar).
Cast of Characters: Three protagonists, all members of the search & rescue party. Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) [name], the team leader; Chief Petty Officer (CPO) [name], demolitions specialist; Doctor Rex, technical expert. Additional characters include Admiral [name], the regional supervisor for Foundation operations in the Antarctic; LCDR Howard, Neptune Station's Deputy Director, who is suffering from PTSD; Dr. Kelly, Sector-23's Head of Research, whose memory is (apparently) wiped - "the innocent" - (and who is later revealed to be the villain responsible for what went wrong); Dr. Stevens, a Level 3 researcher whose mind is scrambled; D-2157-03-17, a D-Class formerly on death row. All other Neptune Station staff killed (or worse) before the start of the story.
