Description: SCP-XXX is a kind of infestation composed of elementary particles of no known description capable of catalyzing proton decay in normal matter, effectively disintegrating it. Instances of SCP-XXX are effected by the gravitational and electromagnetic force, and have a mass of ~717,800MeV or roughly 200 times that of the proton. In initiating proton-decay, the infestation gives rise to more of the same particles (in violation of conservation of mass), creating the risk of a run-away reaction.
Discovery Log: An instance of SCP-XXX was creating during experiments with SCP-REDACED. Within an hour, disintegration of normal matter was observed. Foundation researchers acted to contain its spread, thereby averting a catastrophe.
