Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a thirty-five by thirty-five by twenty cubic meter room (35m*35m*20m) with standard object containment door and walls. SCP-XXXX is to be placed on a one (one) meter high pedestal. No room is to be constructed under the containment room for SCP-XXXX for at least thirty-four meters (34m). Thermal imaging cameras should be mounted on each wall and used for observation as standard security cameras are rendered useless by SCP-XXXX's effect. a thirty-five and one-half meter (35.5 m) rope is to be attached to a tether plate at the entrance of containment room for testing purposes, and is to be attached to a safety harness on subject so that if needed the subject can be retrieved by a small winch attached to the other end of the rope.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an object of unknown shape, weight, mass, etc, that absorbs all light around it with an area of effect of 30 square-meters. when SCP-XXXX is approached by a subject, the subject reports feelings of intense fear, anxiety, and foreboding; there is also a feeling that to touch SCP-XXXX would allow them to escape the darkness. To date, all subjects appear to be too afraid to touch SCP-XXXX and what happens when SCP-XXXX is touched is still unknown. SCP-XXXX also appears to give off just enough light to be barely seen which amounts to 0.4 Lux; however this is an insufficient amount of light to provide any sort of photograph. subjects descriptions of SCP-XXXX often contradict each-other's.
