Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be sealed in a solid steel safe in Site 17. All personnel (barring Class-D's, unless for testing) are to be allowed in with permission from a Staff Director. The room is to be locked at all times, with keys in the possession of the current Research Director. All contact with SCP-XXXX is to be done whilst wearing gloves.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a thin (2x.4x26 cm) strip of skin, Caucasian in coloration. It has been determined to come from a leg, and has been estimated to exist since 1██ A.D. It has not been linked to any known person from that time period.

SCP-XXXXs anomalous properties arise when it is touched (Or makes any contact with) by the skin a live human being. As long as SCP-XXXX remains in contact with the subject (referred to as SCP-XXXX-1), the subject will demonstrate extremely pious behavior, typically praying, blessing objects indiscriminately, and chanting in Latin (Phrases recorded are listed in the addendum).

After prolonged exposure (3-4 hours), SCP-XXXX-1s behavior will become erratic, causing irritability and paranoia about its surroundings. At this point, the chanting will be uttered in a much more hushed and darker tone, and SCP-XXXX-1 will pace, sweating profusely.

Is contact continues for another hour or so, SCP-XXXX-1 will go into an epileptic fit, shouting various prayers about "Sins of the men at arms". Soon thereafter, SCP-XXXX-1 will drop SCP-XXXX, and drop, dead.

Addendum: The following is a record of phrases typically uttered by SCP-XXXX-1.
