The Blasted (draft)
Alien Life Form breeds with EVERYTHING. Hilarity ensues.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-A is to be contained in a sterile 3 m x 3 m x 3 m cell. The cell is to be flooded with isopropyl alcohol. SCP-XXXX-A is to be removed only for testing. Level 3 clearance or higher is required to access SCP-XXXX-A.
SCP-XXXX-B is to be fenced off and guarded at all times by armed personnel. On all records, SCP-XXXX-B is to be regarded as an irradiated area. It is to be clearly signposted and guards are to be posted at all nearby roads to discourage civilians. Any person attempting to approach or enter SCP-XXXX-B is to be forcibly removed and detained for questioning.
An underground wall is to be constructed around SCP-XXXX-B in order to contain subterranean insects etc. This wall should be 5 cm thick and 7 m deep. Above ground, the perimeter of SCP-XXXX is to be treated regularly with defoliants by “Gardening” staff to avoid the spread of contaminated flora. Any aggressive contaminated fauna is to be shot. No wildlife is to be allowed leave the confines of the SCP-XXXX-B. All birds approaching the boundaries of SCP-XXXX-B are to be shot.
To minimise the risk of SCP-XXXX-B spreading beyond the control of the Foundation, it is to be contained for only five years, to allow resident biologists and ecologists to study this alien environment. After five years all possible measures are to be taken in order to exterminate all biological life in SCP-XXXX-B.
At this time (██/██/██) SCP-XXXX-B has been decommissioned and work to integrate it back into the surrounding area is on-going.
Description: SCP-XXXX-A is an organic fleshy mass. It has a mass of approx. 90 kg. It is 135 cm tall and has a diameter of 160 cm at its widest point. Its biological information is stored in the form of XNA as opposed to the DNA found in all life on Earth. It appears to be alive, despite not seeming to eat or breathe. Its only movement is a slight arrhythmic pulsation and it is capable of reproduction. SCP-XXXX-A is able to “mate” with most life forms that can sexually reproduce. If SCP-XXXX-A comes into contact with DNA from a plant or an animal it will give birth after a period of four to five hours.
Animal offspring of SCP-XXXX-A look physically similar to the progenitor animal, however they develop at a much accelerated rate. Offspring will grow 2-3 times larger than the progenitor after only a number of days (depending on the gender of the offspring; females are generally larger). Offspring are generally faster than the progenitor, as well as far stronger and more aggressive. Offspring can reach sexual maturity as soon as four hours after birth. This rapid development requires more nourishment and as such even the offspring of normally herbivorous animals are carnivorous. Organisms will tend to ingest 1.2 to 1.7 times their own body weight a day. Due to the rapid growth and high rate of mutation this entails, specimens rarely live past one year.
A large range of mutations have been recorded in affected specimens, such as:
- Disproportionately large teeth
- Tentacle like protrusions
- Skeleton continuing to grow long after the rest of the body has stopped
- fur/feathers replaced with scales
- Cyclocephaly
- Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva
- Anencephaly
Offspring will only breed within their species. Sexual reproduction occurs as per usual. The female will carry the fertilised eggs for a length of time that varies from species for species. She will give birth and will spend some time feeding them until they are strong enough to be considered competition for food.
Plant offspring shows similar accelerated growth, but none of the aggression or carnivorous tendencies of their animal cousins.
When any offspring, plant or animal, dies, the remains break down at an advanced rate, leaving only a fine dust behind. Tests have confirmed that this dust is inert and contains none of the biological information of SCP-XXXX-A. For all intents and purposes it is safe.
Research involving the introduction of SCP-XXXX-A to various life forms is on-going.
SCP-XXXX-B is the densely forested area of land where SCP-XXXX-A was recovered. A small patch of the forest was scheduled to be cleared and a small domestic well was to be built on site. Discovery of SCP-XXXX-A put a halt to these plans. Before SCP-XXXX-A was retrieved by Foundation agents, it came in contact with many indigenous species of plant and animal including but not limited to mice, rabbits, humans and various grasses and flowers. This resulted in a rapid spread of alien life through the forest. The entire scientific report can be accessed for a full account of the SCP-XXXX-B.
Addendum: The full report on SCP-XXXX-B requires level 3 clearance.
Test logs pertaining to SCP-XXXX-A are classified at this time.
The Horsemen (very rough draft)
Four statues, each representing one of the Horsemen of The Apocalypse affect their owners. Hilarity ensues.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1, 2, 3, and 4, are to be contained in lead, 8000 cm^3 crates at least 50m from each other and all personnel.
Description: SCP-XXXX-1, "Pestilence", is a white, marble statuette of a horse and rider. The rider is holding a bow and there is a crown on his head. The statuette is 20 cm tall to the tip of the rider's crown. It stands on a rectangular base 7 cm wide by 18 cm long and 1.5 cm thick. If a person spends any significant amount of time (~30 hrs) in the presence of SCP-XXXX-1 they will show symptoms of falling ill. If the person remains in intermittent contact with SCP-XXXX-1 these symptoms will progress at an advanced rate. Victim will at first feel fatigued and have a slightly higher temperature than usual. Symptoms will eventually evolve in to a severe fever, vomiting blood, diarrhoea and delirium. Medical treatment will have no effect on the symptoms and the victim will eventually die from dehydration.
SCP-XXXX-2, "War", is a red, jasper statuette of a horse and rider. The rider is holding a large sword in one hand and the reins in the other. The statuette is 24 cm tall to the tip of the rider's sword. It stands on a rectangular base 7 cm wide, by 18 cm long and 1.5 cm thick. If a person spends any significant amount of time (~30 hrs) in the presence of SCP-XXXX-2 they will begin to shows signs of irritability. If the person remains in intermittent contact with SCP-XXXX-2 they will begin to show violent tendencies, anti-social behaviours and other symptoms consistent with psychopathy. After a minimum of two weeks, the victim will show a complete disregard for their own safety and begin attacking any and all people they come into contact with.
SCP-XXXX-3, "Famine", is a black, jet statuette of a horse and rider. The rider is holding a pair of scales. The statuette is 20 cm tall to the rider's head. It stands on a rectangular base 7 cm wide, by 18 cm long and 1.5 cm thick. If a person spends a significant amount of time (~30 hrs) in the presence of SCP-XXXX-3 they will experience an increase in appetite. If the person remains in intermittent contact with SCP-XXXX-3 they will feel constantly hungry. Eventually no amount of food will be able to satisfy victim's hunger and they will soon die of starvation.
SCP-XXXX-4, "Death", is a pale yellow, jade statuette of a horse and rider. The rider is holding a scythe. The statuette is 21 cm tall to the tip of the scythe. It stands on a rectangular base 7 cm wide, by 18 cm long and 1.5 cm thick. If SCP-XXXX-4 is kept in close proximity (within ~50 m) to Pestilence, War or Famine it will exacerbate them to the effect that they will exercise their own effects in approx. half the usual time.
Addendum: Evidence suggests that a fifth, cut crystal statuette of "The Lamb" exists. The rider of this fifth horse is said to carry a sceptre and wear many crowns. Exact details of this fifth statuette are unknown at this time as it has yet to be uncovered, however it is thought that it may nullify they effects of the other horsemen. A small team of researchers and field agents have been tasked with locating and retrieving the fifth horseman.
