SCP-XXX-1

Item #: SCP-XXX
Object Class: Euclid Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX-1 is to remain stored in the same room as Terminal 02 at Reliquary Research and Containment Site-07. It is only to be used on Terminal 02, but may be transferred to a new terminal or location with overseer approval. Terminal 02 is to be disconnected from the site network while SCP-XXX-4 is in use. The drive and its contents may only be handled by personnel with Level 4 or above clearance for research purposes. NOTE: Based on recent events, the drive is off limits to all staff for the time being. I'm sorry, but we've lost enough researchers already. -Dr. M████
Description: SCP-XXX is a group of virtual artifacts originally found on a flash drive (designation: SCP-XXX-1) discovered during an archeological expedition in the Tomb of ██████, lead by Prof. ███ G██████. The top of the drive’s outer shell is composed of 18-Karat gold with painted hieroglyphic engravings and the image of a human figure in the center. The back has similar imagery, but is not painted. A tab on one of its sides allows the plug to retract. According to all devices it has been tested on, it has unlimited storage space, but we have yet to be able to find a way to copy files to or from the drive. The drive has three files on it, which are as follows.

  • SCP-XXX-2: The source code. Unknown file type (file extension translates to “.TTH”.) The code is written entirely in hieroglyphic characters. The syntax is not comparable to any known programming language. The file is too large for any manmade device to scan with current memory limitations, but a heuristic analysis has confirmed it to have minimum of 980 Octodecillion individual functions, 14 Novemdecillion lines of code and 5 Vigintillion characters.
  • SCP-XXX-3: The compiler. Unknown file type (file extension translates to “.AMNR”.) It is unclear how the compiler works, but it appears to use an unnaturally efficient algorithm; when fed the source code, the fully compiled program will be prepared within 30 milliseconds and will require no more than 40 kb of memory despite its incalculably large source material.
  • SCP-XXX-4: The main executable file. EXE file type. The program consists solely of an incredibly complex conversational AI that claims to be insentient. Can only be communicated with through voice interface. After communicating directly with the program, users claim to be able to talk to anything and to have had exchanges with numerous kinds of entities including animals, atoms and gods. To date, no users have lived longer than ██ days after first interacting with the AI. All autopsies show evidence of suicide.
