SCP-XXXX-a was identified as Scott Anthony Hallam, 46, formerly a resident of ██████, Canada, and an automobile mechanic by profession. This instance surrendered itself to Foundation custody on 20██/██/██, bearing SCP-████ in a locked briefcase, and expressing concern at the artifact's cognitohazardous properties. Upon testing both the subject and the artifact it was determined that SCP-XXXX-a was indeed exhibiting symptoms of the first stages of exposure. Treatment by Drs. ██████ and ████ succeeded in reversing the effects and there have so far been no relapses.

Interviewer: Dr. Annette Tully

Foreword: This was the first interview with SCP-XXXXb after its confirmation as a manifestation of the SCP-XXXX phenomenon.

Dr. Tully: Good morning, SCP-XXXX-b.
SCP-XXXX-b: Good morning, Dr. Tully. So XXXX is to be my new name. Yesterday you were still calling me Mr. Shindō.
Dr. Tully: I was hoping you would tell me more about your manifestations.
SCP-XXXX-b: Of course, though I prefer to call them acquisitions. When I surrendered my Hallam body to your custody I told the Foundation of my nature, so what else would you like to know?

Dr. Tully: When you… acquire a person, what happens to him?
SCP-XXXX-b: He becomes a part of me. He ceases to exist as an independent personality, though his soul- if you want to call it that- is not completely lost. I gain the man's skills and knowledge; I develop a taste for his hobbies; and I inherit some affection for his family and friends.
Dr. Tully: And if one of your bodies dies?
SCP-XXXX-b: Then I am diminished. My intelligence dims slightly and I lose some of the memories associated with that body.

Dr. Tully: [pause]

SCP-XXXX-b: I see that you still do not comprehend what I am. I am one consciousness looking at the world through one hundred and nineteen sets of eyes. As I'm speaking to you now, I am listening to the footsteps of the guards outside my Hallam body's cell, and at the same time I am planting a spruce tree in one of my backyards. Another of me, on another continent, is telephoning a pizza restaurant to arrange a delivery. Several dozen of me are asleep. I have over two hundred arms and 119 bodies in the same way that you have two arms and one body. Does this make it clearer?

Dr. Tully: I believe so. You mentioned yesterday that you gain a new body every ten months. How do you choose who to acquire?

SCP-XXXX-b: I don't choose. Every 313 days a new body is added to my whole, but I have no control over who it will be, and I have not yet discovered a predictable pattern. I only know that it is never anyone younger than fifteen, never a person your organization would consider anomalous, and only nine times in my life has it been a woman. I do not know why that should be.
