SCP-XXXX in containment

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 5x5 meter room at Storage Site-██, along with one (1) electric generator with one (1) pair of built-in jumper cables. SCP-XXXX is to be kept "powered down" at all times. Any time the specimen is to be powered on must first be approved by Dr. ██████. To activate: attach the jumper cables individualy to SCP-XXXX's tentacle-like appendages (it doesnt matter which cable is attached to which tentacle) and turn on the generator. The generator must remain on for the subject to stay active.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a medium sized robotic entity made mostly out of iron. The subject's main body consists of two (2) parts, a rocket-like engine and a frontal singular optic system, in which two (2) tentacle-like limbs extend that it uses for object manipulation. The right limb ends in a claw-like hand, whereas the left ends in an unkown device. It appears these devices are interchangable. Two (2) other multijointed apendages attach to the middle of SCP-XXXX's main body. The purpose of these limbs is currently unkown.

SCP-XXXX was found by citizen divers and salvaged from the wreck of the ███████ at a depth of ████. Cargo lists of the ███████ do not reveal any such object. At the time of initial recovery SCP-XXXX was covered with various sediments, seaweed, and rust. It is hypothysized that the subject was once able to "float" or fly in some way, but due to this extended period of time underwater this flight mechanism seems no longer operable. Its joints are covered with rust and jammed with grit seemingly making movement difficult. The "engine" in which SCP-XXXX runs seems to be failing, getting noticeably slower and running with more difficulty.

When powered on, the object will atempt to move, but to no avail, simply moving its singular "eye" in a sporadic manner. The subject interacts with objects placed in front of it with simple-minded curiosity.

Addendum: Upon approval from 05 command, the metal carapace surrounding the subjects potical device was removed and the engine was uncovered. Inside researchers [DATA EXPUNGED] a small memory storage device. Most data was corrupt beyond recovery except [DATA EXPUNGED] which leads to a once thought uninhabited island in the pacific ocean, now designated SCP-XXXX (more to be added eventually).

SCP-XXXX-A upon initial recovery

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Personnel must wear protective gloves and bio hazmat suits when handling, watering, and entering containment area's where instances of SCP-XXXX are kept. All instances of SCP-XXXX are to be watered daily inside the greenhouse at Bio-Research Area-13.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a type of parasitoid plant, which upon entering the blood of any human circulates and attaches to the heart. Upon this it will change the physical and biological makeup of the heart; ending up creating a rose-like bush. The process of this is well documented, but the way it is accomplished is still under study. SCP-XXXX spreads itself though bodily contact between its thorns and human skin; mature specimens also emit an infectious cloud of spores that reach outward up to three (3) meters. Any person who inhales these spores are at risk of infection.

SCP-XXXX was recovered from Marshall, Carter and Dark auction on █/██/████. There are no known instances of SCP-XXXX occuring in the wild; it is suspected to be artificially created. This is supported by the fact SCP-XXXX in later stages of development appears as a hybrid tea rose, crossbreeds that do not occure naturally in the wild.

Expirement Log 8791:
D-6754 exposed to mature SCP-XXXX . Obseravtional summery of transformation divided into stages, over a period of one (1) month:

Stage 1 Membrane begins formation around the base of the aorta and superior ven cava. Subject reports no pain or discomfort.
Stage 2 Cells comprising the heart, aorta, and superior vena cava begin transformation into plant-like cells. Membrane moves up to cover all arteries branching off the aorta, and the right and left pulminary arteries. Subjects begins to feel occasional sharp chest pain.
Stage 3 The heart, aorta, and superior vena cava are now completely made up of plant-like cells, and begin storing energy. Veins attaching to the heart begin transformation into root-like structures. Arteries attached to the aorta and left pulminart arteries begin development of "leaves". Subject reports intense pain in chest cavity, requests painkillers. Request denied.
Stage 4 Brachiocephallic artery, left common carotid artery, left subclavian artery, and left pulminart arteries [DATA EXPUNGED]. Subject expires, due to complete shutdown of cardiovascular system, and major internal bleeding.
Stage 5 The three (3) arteries attached to the aorta begin growing up through the chest cavity, untill breaking throught the skin and unfolding leaves. Roots (previously veins) begin growing through the bottom of the cadaver and into the ground and begin water absorbtion. Note: The cadaver was moved into greenhouse and was placed chest up over patch of gardening soil and watered daily from this point onwards.
Stage 6 Thorns, rose buds, and leaves consistent with those of a hybrid tea rose begin regular growth. SCP-XXXX seems to grow as a normal rose bush untill fully mature, where it begins emiting a cloud of infectious spores. The process by which these spores are created is at this time unkown.
