SCP-XXXX, pictured manifesting in the ███████, ███████ |
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
A wireless tracking device is to be maintained on SCP-XXXX, the batteries of which must be replaced remotely after each shift of SCP-XXXX. Mobile Task Force Nu-4 are to be prepared for rapid redeployment in the scenario that SCP-XXXX shifts unexpectedly. MTF Nu-4 are to maintain a perimeter around SCP-XXXX and establish temporary containment until the rest of the containment team can arrive and a more permanent outpost can be set up around SCP-XXXX.
Should the situation arise where establishing containment around SCP-XXXX's new location would be too costly or impractical, arrangements appropriate to the situation are to be made by
authorized to draw from any nearby foundation elements/presence for additional personnel/supplies/aid.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a small, grassy barrow with a small gorse bush growing out of it. The barrow is roughly eleven (11) metres in diameter, its perimeter being marked by a small incline in the ground.
Moves from place to place - any objects on it will move with it. Known to move hundreds/thousands of kilometres in its shifts.
Predatory, eats people by taking them with it when it moves
Bush can move (rustles?)
Lures?
**Addendum XXXX-A: Incident XXXX-a
SCP-XXXX manifested in a crowded population centre. Foundation's reaction, how they contained it etc etc
Five questions contest:
"with a strange sense of Deja Vu"
1 - male Caucasian, approximately 40 years of age, with brown hair and green eyes. Stands in the southeast corner of the room, reading from a standing monitor. Hit three times in the chest by automatic fire at approximately 8.1 seconds and appears to be killed instantly.
Frederick gazes down at the terminal, deciphering the raw data into something more manageable. To his left, pen scribbling hurriedly, the junior researcher struggles to keep up. The data was rather mundane, once you were used to reading it. Some minor fluctuations had
2 - male Asian, approximately 35 years of age, with black hair and brown eyes. Stands to the left of researcher #1, carries a clipboard with indecipherable writing on a note pad. Hit once in right shoulder at 8.0 seconds before dropping to the floor, out of sight behind the device.
Miles counts the minutes to lunch. He hastily jots down what was dictated to him. This is the tedious part of the job; taking notes for the lead researcher, who was perfectly capable of taking his own damn notes. It was the opposite of what he'd expected to be doing here. He could barely write properly with how fast
Something lances through his shoulder. Shocked and dazed, half stumbling and half diving, Miles hits the ground; and the sound of whistling air echoes in the room. Out of the corner of his eye, Miles notices with an abstracted dismay that his notes are all scattered on the ground. He looks up at the machine before him, and wonders what will happen to him. He hopes everything will be all right/he’ll be ok.
And then there is a flash.
3 - female Caucasian, approximately 40 years of age, with brown hair and amber eyes. Sits at a desk in the southwest corner of the room, working at a computer station. Is out of the line of sight when the gunfire begins, and takes cover under the desk. Appears to be reaching for a weapon of some sort shortly before the end of the sequence.
Julia
4 - male Caucasian, approximately 45 years of age, with brown hair and indeterminate eyes. Stands in front of the device to the northeast, with his back to the observation room. Shot twice in the head at 7.2 seconds, killed instantly.
Edmond catches himself glancing at the new guy again. Berating himself for losing concentration, he directs his attention back at the machine before him.
(Has crush on number 2?)
5 - male, indeterminate. Stands in the northwest corner, mostly obscured. Presumably shot at approximately 7.8 seconds and drops down, out of sight.
…he heaved on the lever.
And then there was a flash.
Maybe have this guy activate an unseen lever (unseen from the perspective of the viewing window) that causes the machine to go flashy flash flash?
Mission assignment of intruders. Foundatioon MTF?
(Maybe move this bit to the top? Possibly refer to the electrical device as SCP- >2000)
Possibly Foundation research footnote. (maybe the anomaly was discovered when the foundation was searching for an off-site laboratory for R&D?)
Three timelines:
Original timeline, from which the researchers/device are from. Project goes undisturbed
Reaction timeline, in which original timeline causes/necessitates some kind of action to go and interrupt/destroy project before it is completed, which causes this whole time-looping anomaly to occur. Maybe a message back in time? Maybe the machine brought great happiness, prosperity and goodness to the world - drastically changing the future of the human race. But this chain of events indefatigably leads to some kind of XK end of world scenario, and only a complete and totally different path in history can avert it. Anything short of destroying the project before it could ever begin (maybe it soon got more funding/attention from the Foundation as the project gradually became more and more promising, and only in the beginning stages was being kept in a chemical factory and manned by so few researchers) would not be sufficient/has proven to be sufficient (suggestion that they’ve already tried other things, maybe atrociously unethical things.)
Also, need an extract (or the whole thing?) of the message sent back in time to the Foundation that sent in the gunmen? Also, work out reason for Foundation to have killed its own people.
Our timeline, in which whatever project was going to happen there has never been set up/initiated because the premises are the location of the anomaly we all know and love, and is contained by the Foundation, who would have otherwise used it for a test lab had it not been for the anomaly.
GOC?
